About Pura Vida Art Project
Hi friends! I’m Mollie, a mixed media artist and the creator of Pura Vida Art Project.
Pura Vida Art Project was inspired by my journey navigating grief and mental health after my brother, Troy, passed away in 2017. Pura vida meaning “pure life” is a common expression in Costa Rica. It is the philosophy Troy lived his life by - simply and to the fullest, valuing people and experiences above all.

My artwork is influenced by chasing sunsets throughout my travels and at home by the Salish Sea. Each piece is crafted with intention, and created to share small moments of joy and healing.

Meet the Artist

While I wear many hats, my formal education is in art & education. As a multi -media artist I currently work in watercolor, acrylic, chalk, drawing & hand lettering. Being well versed in multiple mediums and styles, I love to use my creativity in a way that brings joy to others.

San Juan Islands Artist
My artwork is inspired by the beauty of the Pacific Northwest & growing up in the San Juan Islands.
I want to acknowledge that this beautiful place I call home is also on unceded Coast Salish territory. As I live and create work here, it is important that I do so in respect and support of those who came before me.
In addition, I am always looking for ways to reduce my environmental impact. The materials I use are recycled, repurposed or second hand whenever possible.
